Recent drawings

Now that I have my scanner up now, I'm going through my sketch books and scanning everything new, or hasn't been scanned yet. These three drawings are about the most recent.

Portrait of an Elderly Man
9x11
Pencel on Paper
From an picture in Jack Hamm's, Drawing the head and figure. Another good learning text that I recommend.

Sick In Bed Collage
11x14
Ink on Paper
I really was sick when I drew this, and drove my wife nuts doing it. I started drawing the kleenex box, and when that was done, I'd ask my wife to find something for me. I didn't tell her I was drawing the item, I just simply ask her to throw it on the bed. And when I finished drawing that, I'd call her and ask for something else. It was fun for me at the time, but I know she was getting a little annoyed, especially when she'd say something like "What the hell do you need my egg timer for?". I ended up framing the picture and giving it to her as a present.

Assention
11x14
Ink and Pencil, and Graphite stick on Paper
This drawing was inspired by Mell Gibson's movie The Passion of the Christ

Adult Colouring Pages Free to Download

Adult Colouring Pages Adult colouring books are becoming more popular, and as their popularity grows so does the price tag. I just went and bought one for my wife and the price was well over $30 CAD. That's pretty steep as far as I'm concerned.
I bought it because I was hearing all the benefits of colouring for relaxation, mindfulness, and the like. I like to draw, and I am well aware of the benefits of drawing, but whether the benefits of drawing are similar in colouring I won't say for sure. You may want to read the article "Are You Having a Relationship with an Adult Coloring Book" in Psychology Today to gain further insight on the subject.
After paying the steep price for an adult colouring book, I thought I would search the web to find anything on the subject, and possible free to download colouring pages. And, well, there is tons of stuff out there. Two sites that I found are quite good and have lots of pages that you can download for free. Davidrd Colle…

Back at it Big Time!!

First off, I think that I am caught up with all the Globes for the gallery for Mimi's Dona Nobis Pacem effort. Mimi Pencil Skirt is still reporting on the subject as we speak! And I have an excerpt from one of her reporter role models:

Now Mimi is on fire, furiously typing

and typing, and typing and drinking lots of

Actually both of us were burning at least one of these

(No, not books! Couldn't find decent candle pic).
I would like to thank everyone that participated in Dona Nobis Pacem, for the
gallery is wonderful. Mimi is happier than
a P*& in S*&% over the response for the first ever run.
I still have more linking to do, but I will get to it
as fast as I can.
Even though my role was small through the entire project, I found it
unique, heartwarming, humbling...It was all that and more, and I'm already
geared up for next year, but I will have (hopefully) better planning
to handle 'many more' globes.

I know I'll be better prepared than this guy ever was!

To all the G…
